The Menagerie #3: Krakens and Lies

The Menagerie #3: Krakens and Lies by Tui T. Sutherland and Kari Sutherland

The Menagerie trilogy comes to a fantastic conclusion in Krakens and Lies, the third magical and mysterious adventure from Tui Sutherland (New York Times bestselling author of the Wings of Fire series) and Kari Sutherland. Young readers who love mythological creatures won’t want to miss the Menagerie.

Someone has been sabotaging the Menagerie, and Logan and Zoe are on the case. But their troubles only get worse when the basilisk escapes its enclosure and the merpeople go on strike–leaving the kraken to its own devices. The race is on to solve the mystery and save the Menagerie in this riveting, action-packed finale!

The Good

Logan, Zoe, Blue, and Jasmin as well as others, come together to rescue Logan’s mom and discover the menagerie saboteur.

The Bad

Blue kisses Jasmin. There are several mythical creatures, there’s a list at the back of the book.

Ages

Ages 9+ is good for this book.

My Take

I enjoy the conclusion to the menagerie trilogy. I would definitely recommend it to fantasy and animal lovers. The series is like an entire book, with three smaller climaxes and resolutions in each book, but with a bigger, ongoing problem, climax, and resolution. No cliffhanger ending this time!
